Olivier Vernon Signs Contract With Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins signed both their 2012 3rd- Round picks on Wednesday afternoon. Former Miami Hurricanes defensive end Olivier Vernon signed a four-year deal along with tight end Michael Egnew to leave Ryan Tannehill as the only unsigned 2012 selection. Vernon's contract is a four-year deal worth $2.84 million, and he'll receive a $638,080 signing bonus according to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel.

The one final obstacle in an agreement on Tannehill's deal is the offset language in his contract. This has become a hurdle for some early 1st Round picks, as most high picks do not have offset language in their contracts. It's expected that the Dolphins and Tannehill will come to a resolution shortly and get the rookie quarterback in camp.

Vernon, however, will now come in to camp on time and ready to challenge for a potential starting rush end spot.
