NFL Injury Report: Tony McDaniel, Daniel Thomas Miss Dolphins Practice

Stay connected for news and updates

Miami Dolphins defensive end Tony McDaniel and running back Daniel Thomas missed practice on Wednesday, according to the injury report. McDaniel is suffering from lingering injuries, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Thomas, meanwhile, is recovering from a head injury he received in last Sunday's season opener against the Houston Texans.

McDaniel is a seven-year veteran in the league who registered 19 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2011. He's listed behind Randy Starks on the Dolphins' depth chart, and his status for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders is unclear. The Dolphins have re-signed defensive tackle Ryan Baker to help shore up depth on the defensive line.

Thomas is the backup for Dolphins running back Reggie Bush. He suffered a concussion last Sunday during a hit by Texans safety Glover Quin. Dolphins rookie Lamar Miller will see increased time if Thomas is unable to play against the Raiders.
