Antonio Smith, Not Richie Incognito Fined By NFL

Stay connected for news and updates

Houston Texans defensive end Antonio Smith has been fined $21,000 by the NFL for repeatedly kicking Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito in the head during a play in Week 1. Incognito was not fined for grabbing Smith's ankle on that play and allegedly attempting to twist and break it.

Incognito said he grabbed Smith's legs in an effort to keep the DE from recovering a fumble and that there was no harmful intent. This appears to have been the league's conclusion as well, because he escaped any punishment.

The Dolphins host the Oakland Raiders in Week 2.
