The Miami Heat defeated the Detroit Pistons in Thursday night's preseason game, 105-78.

The Miami Heat never struggled with the Detroit Pistons in their 105-78 preseason victory on Thursday night. Miami jumped out to a significant advantage early in the game, outscoring Detroit 27-11 in the first quarter and expanding on that lead throughout the game.

Dwyane Wade led the way for the Heat with 21 points while Chris Bosh and LeBron James put in double figures as well. Bosh had 17 points on the night, and James had 13.

Greg Monroe and Brandon Knight were the top performers for Detroit. Monroe put up 15 points, and Knight had 12.

Miami shot over 50 percent from the field for most of the game, but finished at 47.6 percent compared to Detroit's 35 percent. The Heat had dropped their first home game of the preseason, but the victory improves their record to 2-2 in the preseason and 1-1 at home. The Pistons fall to 2-3 and have yet to pick up a road win this preseason.

Miami travels to San Antonio to face the Spurs on Saturday.
