Heat Vs. Nets Recap: Miami Rides LeBron James For 4th Quarter Comeback Win

It was certainly harder than it should have been, but the Miami Heat pulled off their second win in as many days on Monday with a 101-98 victory over the New Jersey Nets. The Heat went on a furious fourth quarter run to eek out the three-point win after trailing for much of the second half. Miami outscored Jersey 31-19 over the final 12 minutes to escape with the road win.

LeBron James went off for the Heat, scoring 37 points and hitting 14 of 15 attempts from the charity stripe. With Erik Spoelstra resting Dwyane Wade again, James carried the club throughout and was huge down the stretch. Chris Bosh added an impressive double-double effort, grabbing 15 rebounds and scoring 22 points. They were the only two Miami players in double figures, but New Jersey had no answers and the two-man game was enough to clinch the late win.

After being out on the road most of the week, the Heat now return home for a tilt with the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night.

Heat Vs. Nets Score Update: Playing Without Dwyane Wade, Miami Trails By 3 At Half

After one half at the Prudential Center in Newark, the Miami Heat trail the New Jersey Nets, 55-52. Miami shot the lights out but unfortunately defensive stops on the other end were few and far between, as the Nets shot better than 50 percent from the field. LeBron James hit a three-pointer to close the half for the Heat, and leads all Miami scorers with 14 points. Dwyane Wade is once again sitting out, resting a gimpy ankle and not wanting to risk it against the lowly Nets in the final stretch of the season. Chris Bosh added 10 points for Miami, who shot 60 percent from the floor in the first 24 minuetes.

But Jersey countered with Kris Humphries, who had an outrageously productive first half, scoring a game-high 17 points on just nine attempts from the floor. Rookie MarShon Brooks added 13 points to keep a surprisingly game Nets squad in front. Miami will look to get some stops on the defensive end coming out of the locker room, looking to go on a run and take control of a game they should certainly win.

Deron Williams Injury: Nets Will Be Without Their Top Scorer Versus The Heat

The New Jersey Nets will not have point guard Deron Williams when they host the Miami Heat on Monday night. Williams is out with a sore right calf, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel.

Williams has been the Nets' top player this season. He leads the team with an average of 21 points per game and almost nine assists. Additionally, he averages 3.3 rebounds per game. Averaging more than 15 points per game in April, Williams has struggle of late. In his last two outings, he has hit less than 30 percent of his field goals.

Miami was already favored in this matchup against a Nets team that has lost two of its last three. Williams out of the game only increases their chances. A Sunday night win over the Knicks silenced a few doubters concerning the Heat's recent road struggles against the league's better teams. A second straight road win only help.
