Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is now considered day-to-day and close to returning to action for the team after suffering an abdominal muscle strain against the Pacers. Bosh is possible for Game 5 on Tuesday. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra revealed on Monday that Bosh said he was feeling well enough to play 10 days ago.
Spoelstra and his players would certainly like to have Bosh in the lineup for Game 5 with the series now tied 2-2 after back-to-back Boston wins. With an injury like Bosh's, his return is a matter of comfort level and conditioning, which led the Heat boss to caution the media to take his player's diagnosis with a dose of skepticism.
Bosh workout three times while the team was in Boston, and has been closely monitored by the coach and training staff. Barring a setback, Miami hopes to have him playing on Tuesday.

The Miami Heat just might have a powerful reinforcement in their lineup this week in the form of Chris Bosh. The injured forward could be a game-time decision when the Heat host the Boston Celtics for Game 5 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night, ESPN's Tom Haberstroh said on Monday morning.
I'd imagine the team will call Chris Bosh "a gametime decision" with every intention of him playing tomorrow's Game 5.

Bosh's return could be big for the Heat, obviously. Many expected the team to struggle without the forward, but the duo of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have managed to carry much of the load, with key contributions from other members of the team.
Haberstroh expects Heat coach Erik Spoelstra to discuss Bosh's status on Monday afternoon.

The Miami Heat answered more than a few questions when they finished off the Indiana Pacers to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals without forward Chris Bosh. A series against the Boston Celtics could prove a little tougher without the third part of the Heat's star trio, but they may have him back soon enough.
Bosh went through a workout on Sunday afternoon with the team, a significant step in his recovery from an abdominal strain. However, Bosh is not far enough along to be ready for Game 1 of the series on Monday night. The Heat are not planning to have him available either.
According to a report from ESPN, head coach Erik Spoelstra is staying focused on one game at a time, meaning the series opener without Bosh:
"I'm not even preparing for that right now," Spoelstra said earlier Sunday when asked about Bosh's status for the series. "I'm preparing for who we have in the gym. So our focus is (Monday). And that's all I can concentrate on. We have enough to win (Monday). That's all that any of our guys should be focused on."

With more coming out about the injury to Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, there is serious doubt that he could be back at all for Miami's current series against the Indiana Pacers. There's even the possibility that he could be done for the playoffs. He expressed doubt himself in an interview with ESPN Heat Insider Tom Haberstroh.
Chris Bosh on whether he'll return in series or even playoffs: "I don't know. I wish I did."
— Tom Haberstroh (@tomhaberstroh) May 14, 2012
If Bosh is indeed held out of the remainder of the playoffs, the Miami Heat lose an inside player that helped them get the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. However, unlike an injury to another star player, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, this should not be as devastating to the Heat.

An MRI exam on Monday revealed that Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has a strained abdominal muscle, according to the team. That puts Bosh on the shelf indefinitely.
The news raises serious questions about the Heat's playoff hopes. Bosh was part of a trio with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade that helped Miami earn the second seed in the Eastern Conference headed into this year's playoffs.
Bosh injured his abdominal muscle late in the first half of Sunday's Game 1 win over the Indiana Pacers. He went up for a dunk and was fouled by Pacers center Roy Hibbert. He came down and doubled over in pain on the court.
James and Wade carried the team through the second half without Bosh. Just how much the pair can do without Bosh on the court was the subject of this piece at SB Nation's NBA hub on Monday morning.

The MIami Heat received some bad news during their contest with the Indiana Pacers Sunday afternoon, as Chris Bosh has been forced out of Game 1 due to a lower abdominal strain. He aggrivated the injury on this play earlier in the contest.
Bosh has been key for the Miami Heat in the first half, tying for a game-high 13 points with Dwyane Wade. If the Heat want to get back into this game, they will need someone to step up down low.
We will have more updates on Bosh's status as they come in right here in this StoryStream.
