The Miami Heat inked Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen to a free agent deal last Friday. It's exploring adding 39-year-old Grant Hill, as well. Next up for Miami ... Rashard Lewis? According to ESPN.com NBA writer Brian Windhorst, the 6-foot-10 forward could be the next veteran headed to South Florida to play for the defending NBA champions. Windhorst tweeted the following earlier this afternoon.
Heat on verge of getting a commitment from Rashard Lewis, sources tell ESPN.com . Story posted soon.
Lewis played just 60 games with the Washington Wizards over the last season because of injuries. When on the court, he averaged 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and one assistant per game. In spite of the injuries, he would be expected to help in terms of 3-point shooting, as he is a career 38.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
