Magic Free Agency 2012: Jameer Nelson's Contract Good For $19.7 Million, According To Report

The new contract that guard Jameer Nelson signed with the Orlando Magic on Thursday isn't as expensive as it potentially could have been. The deal, according to HoopsWorld.com's Alex Kennedy, is worth $19.7 million over three years.

The 2009 all star, who has been with the Magic his entire NBA career, has been a shooting force that played 57 games last season for the Magic, averaging 11.9 points, 5.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game, shooting 37.7 percent from three point range and 42.7 percent overall.

Those numbers, except for assists and rebounds were slightly down from his career numbers of 12.4 points, five assists and three rebounds per game as well as 38.8 percent three-point shooting and 45.6 percent shooting overall, his overall shooting presence is something that the Magic wanted to keep in Orlando.
