The Miami Marlins have had to deal with their fair share of freak injuries this spring, and they have been hit especially hard in their outfield. Logan Morrison was injured when a stray ball ricocheted off a pitching machine and into his shoulder, and Giancarlo Stanton slipped on a pool deck and injured his knee.
While neither injury is serious, they have prevented Morrison and Stanton from appearing in game action over the past week and their statuses for Opening Day remain in doubt. But there is some good news on this front, as Stanton has been cleared to return to game action, and if things go well during the minor league game today, he could play with the Marlins on Friday against the Washington Nationals.
Meanwhile, Morrison is playing in minor league games as well, and is expected to be ready to go by Opening Day. The Marlins are taking him along slow to make sure he's fully healed, but barring a setback, he's on pace to be fully ready to go.
