Marlins Vs. Phillies Final Score: Josh Johnson Falls Apart, Phillies Win 7-1

The Miami Marlins took an early 1-0 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies as Josh Johnson and Roy Halladay were looking like they were both going to be pitching gems on the night. That all unraveled quickly for Johnson however, as the Phillies were able to plate five runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Johnson gave up four straight hits allowing three runs to scored. Freddy Galvis hit a double with two outs to score two more runs, giving the Phillies a 5-1 lead by the end of the third inning. The Phillies plated two more runs, including a Carlos Ruis solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Phillies a 7-1 lead.

Halladay finished up pitching 7.0 innings for the Phillies, allowing just five hits and striking out three batters to pick up his second win of the season.

Johnson worked out of a bit of trouble in the bottom of the second, getting Freddy Galvis to ground out to end the inning with Shane Victorino sitting on third base.
