Marlins starter Carlos Zambrano gave up three runs in the bottom of the first inning and gave up a fourth with a solo Jay Bruce home run in the bottom of the sixth that put the Reds up 4-2. All told, Zambrano went six innings and gave up four earned runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out six.
Miami was able to go up 5-4 in the top of the seventh, on a Chris Coghlan RBI double, a Jose Reyes RBI groundout and an Emilico Bonifacio RBI single. They were unable to hold the lead, however, as Heath Bell served up another Jay Bruce solo home run to start the Reds half of the ninth. Bell gave up singles to Drew Stubbs and Ryan Hanigan and pinch hitter Scott Rolen singles to bring in Stubbs for the walk-off win. Bell takes his first loss and first blown save of the year.
