2012 MLB Draft Results: Miami Marlins Pick Up Pitchers With Upside

The final day of the 2012 MLB Draft finished up on Wednesday afternoon. The Miami Marlins picked up left-handed pitcher Hayden Fox with the No. 647 out of Oakland University. The 6'4 200 pound redshirt sophomore picked up 94 strikeouts in 91.1 innings through his first three seasons in college.

The Marlins also picked up right-handed pitcher Steve Weber with the No. 1007 pick in the 33rd round of the draft out of Eastern Michigan. Weber has the prototypical size for the MLB power pitcher at 6'7 and 210 pounds. Weber started 15 games for EMU this past season and led the team in strikeouts, complete games, and shutouts.
