The Marlins face Cole Hamels in the first of three games with Philadelphia.
Before the year started many projected the Miami Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies to be next to each other in the standings, but not in fourth and fifth place. The Marlins, who occupy the bottom of the NL East, begin a three-game series with Philadelphia, who Miami trails by one-half game.
The series opens tonight with Nathan Eovaldi (3-7, 4.33 ERA) on the hill against Cole Hamels (12-6, 3.08 ERA). Despite being one of the better pitchers in the National League during his career, Hamels has struggled against Miami. The left-hander has a 6-10 record against the Marlins and a 3.68 ERA in 22 starts.
Monday's game begins at 7:10 ET and can be seen on Fox Sports Florida.
