Marlins Vs. Nationals: Miami Drops Game 1, 7-3

The Miami Marlins fell to the division-leading Washington Nationals in Game 1 of their Friday doubleheader 7-3 at Nationals Park.

Although the Marlins struck first in the top of the first with a Carlos Lee RBI groundout, the Nationals then answered with seven runs through the first four innings.

Brad Hand struggled in his spot-start, going just 3.2 innings while allowing the seven runs on six hits and six walks.

The Marlins were able to score two runs in the seventh and one in the ninth, but it was not enough.

On a positive note, Jose Reyes extended his hitting streak to 21 games with a single in the first inning. Reyes went 2-for-5 at the dish with a double.
