Marlins Vs. Nationals: Miami Gives Up Six In The Eighth, Falls 10-7

Stay connected for news and updates

It was going well for the Miami Marlins. After splitting their doubleheader on Friday, they led the host Washington Nationals 6-4 with just 1.5 innings left to play. Instead, they watched that lead slip away, surrendering six runs in the eighth inning and fall to the Nats by a final score of 10-7 on Saturday night at Nationals Park.

Reliever Mike Dunn was charged with the loss after giving up six runs in the eighth (all unearned).

Miami got off to a lead after breaking a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning off a run-scoring single from Jose Reyes and a subsequent RBI-double from Carlos Lee but eventually squandered the lead late.

The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at 1:35 p.m. EST. Ricky Nolasco will take the hill for the Marlins.
