Hector Lombard was set to take on Michael Bisping at one point for UFC 149, but Bisping was forced to pull out of the bout with an injury. Now, Lombard is hoping that if he can beat Tim Boetsch on Saturday night he can earn a title shot and take on Anderson Silva, who hasn't had anyone outside of Chael Sonnen really challenge him.
"I bumped into Hector Lombard for the first time yesterday in the elevator and I thought someone was playing a practical joke on me," Bisping said at a UFC 149 Q&A session on Friday afternoon. "Who is this little poison dwarf?"
"C'mon seriously? Seriously? This is the guy with all the hype," Bisping joked. "I think he's in the wrong weight class. There's a 125-pound weight class he should be in."
Bisping also noted while Lombard's fight streak is pretty amazing, he hasn't really heard of many of the people Lombard has beaten. Bisping also didn't think Lombard really deserved a title shot and there were other more deserving fighters.
