The Orlando Magic coughed up a 20 plus point lead Thursday night to the Boston Celtics, scoring just eight points in the final quarter to squander a home win. Those woes carried over to Friday night as they were run off the floor by the New Orleans Hornets in their fourth game in five nights. The Magic failed to scored 20 points in a quarter, as the Hornets closed it out 93-67 at New Orleans Arena.
Dwight Howard was the only Magic player who showed up, scoring 28 points and grabbing 16 rebounds against an overmatched Hornet frontcourt. No other Magic player would score in double figures, as Orlando shot less than 40 percent from the field. In addition to the poor-shooting, they also committed 22 turnovers, which made this a laugher early in the fourth quarter.
The Magic now have one day off, before they host the Indiana Pacers at Amway Center on Sunday evening.

Playing their fourth game in five nights, the Orlando Magic looked tired and overwhelmed in the first half against the New Orleans Hornets. The Magic trail 47-34 after one half at New Orleans Arena, as the woeful second half against Boston has appeared to carry-over tonight in the Big Easy.
Dwight Howard, who's been in early foul trouble the past two games, dominated early for Orlando, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He is matched up against draft-class colleague Emeka Okafor, who went one pick after Howard. J.J. Redick was the only other Magic player who had any rhythm on the offensive end. He hit two quick three-pointers to provide some energy off the bench. But Orlando has been hampered by turnovers, coughing it up 11 times so far.
Orlando will need to pick it up on the offensive end to avoid their second loss in as many nights.

Though the Hornets have won five of the last eight meetings between the teams, including each of the last three, the club is hardly the same, as it's traded away two All-Stars in Chris Paul and David West, as well as productive youngsters Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton. Given the state of the roster, it's little wonder New Orleans has lost nine straight games to dip to 3-15.
Orlando has lost three of its last five and hasn't won consecutive games since the San Antonio Spurs snapped its five-game winning streak on Jan. 18.
