Dwight Howard's Agents Leaked Details Of Wednesday Meeting With Magic, According To Report

Last Wednesday, Orlando General Manager Rob Hennigan and CEO Alex Martins met with center Dwight Howard, in a last ditch attempt to sell the big man on staying in Orlando. Howard reportedly told Hennigan he had no desire to stay in Orlando and would leave as a free agent after the season. The reason we know the details of this not-so-secret meeting? Howard's agents leaked them, irking NBA commissioner David Stern in the process. Via Ric Bucher of ESPN.com:

The agent for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard confirmed NBA commissioner David Stern's accusation that Howard's representatives were the sources that provided details of Wednesday's private meeting in Los Angeles with Magic officials.

However, the agent said, those representatives did so only after media members were tipped off to the meeting taking place by some other source and out of concern that subsequent reports about the content of the meeting would be inaccurate.

"It's very unique, especially if it's driven by a quote source that happens to be Dwight's agent," Stern told USA Today. "'A source in the meeting.' Oh, OK, who might that be?"

Sooner or later, you would have to think the Magic would grow sick of the constant drama surrounding Howard and simply deal him to his top choice, the Brooklyn Nets, just to remove the current Dwight-induced malaise surrounding the franchise.
