The Big East Conference announces their full expansion plans tonight, as they're taking a much-needed step to shore up the conference and rebuild. According to the reports out there, the Big East will bring in five new teams: Boise State, San Diego State, Houston, SMU, and UCF.
But as you might notice from the map below, these teams stretch the definition of the Big "East". The conference is now a little bit all over the place:
But such is the price of realignment, where conference are formed and expanded based on television deals rather than minor details like geography.
