The Bulls earned the 12 seed after sweating it out on Selection Sunday. They were squarely on the bubble after falling just short against Notre Dame in the Big East quarterfinals. The Bulls' quality computer numbers ultimately were enough to overcome a poor record against top-50 opponents and several bad losses in non-conference season.
