South Florida will look to start strong in its quest to win the Big East title.
To say the Big East title is there for the taking this season is an understatement. In a conference with just eight teams, South Florida is picked to finish in second place, behind Louisville. The season kicks off on Saturday night with a home game against FCS opponent Chattanooga.
Game time: 7:00 p.m. ET
Location: Tampa, Fla.
TV: ESPN3
Big things are expected from senior quarterback B.J. Daniels this season. The Tallahassee native has started at least 10 games in each of his last three seasons. As a junior, Daniels threw for 2,585 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 601 yards and six touchdowns.
The Chattanooga Mocs do not figure to pose much of a threat to South Florida. The team went 5-6 last season and lost 40-7 to Nebraska in its only game against an FBS opponent.
