Gators' Kyle Christy named special teams player of the week

Florida's punter was named special teams player of the week for a record-setting game Saturday.

Florida Gators punter Kyle Christy was named the Southeastern Conference special teams player of the week Monday, according to The Gainesville Sun.

The sophomore set a Florida single-game record by averaging 54.3 yards on seven punts in the team's 44-11 win over South Carolina. Six of his punts were for more than 50 yards, including a season-long 62 yarder.

In two seasons at Florida, Christy has 24 punts that have gone for more than 50 yards.
