Saints' Colston, Thomas And Shockey Inactive

Stay connected for news and updates

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston is inactive for Sunday’s regular-season finale against Tampa Bay as he recovers from minor knee surgery performed earlier this week.

Colston suffered a knee injury in Monday night’s contest against the Falcons, a 30-24 win that secured the reigning Super Bowl champions a playoff spot.

Colston has recorded 84 receptions for 1,023 yards and seven touchdowns. It’s the fourth time in his five-year career he has eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark.

Running back Pierre Thomas and tight end Jeremy Shockey are also inactive.

Thomas, who is slowed by a lingering ankle injury, missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned to take limited reps in Friday’s session.

Shockey is out with a groin problem.
