The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into New Orleans, looking to emerge with a win over the Saints and possible first place standing in the NFC South. The Saints are looking to rebound after an embarrassing loss last week to the St. Louis Rams.
It's a battle for first place in the NFC South Sunday at the newly named Mercedes-Benz Superdome, as the New Orleans Saints (5-3), coming off a stunning loss to the woeful St. Louis Rams last week, host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3), rested and refreshed after their bye week. A week after dismantling the Indianapolis Colts 62-7, New Orleans fell behind 24-0 to the Rams in St. Louis, eventually falling 31-21 in perhaps the biggest upset of the NFL season so far.
The Buccaneers could be bolstered Sunday by the return of LeGarrette Blount from injury, a much needed boost for a Tampa Bay running game that lost Earnest Graham for the season to a torn Achilles tendon. The Saints rush defense ranks just 24th in the NFL, allowing an averaged 124.1 yards a game. In fact, Graham gained over 100 yards in the teams' previous meeting this year, a 26-20 Tampa Bay victory.
