Much to the chagrin of Chad OchoCinco, Mason Foster has been fined $20,000 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on the eccentric Patriots wide receiver during New England's preseason win over Tampa Bay last Thursday. The Buccaneers rookie linebackers, taken in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft, leveled Ochocinco on a pass play over the middle during the first quarter. Over the weekend, Ochocinco praised Foster for the big hit and promised to pay whatever fines he might face for the hit.↵
Well Chad, here's the bill: $20k.
Don't think that he's forgotten about his promise either. After the NFL announced the fine, Ochocinco was back on Twitter to let Roger Goodell know that he disagreed with the decision and that he still intended to foot the bill. I could be mistaken, but I am not so sure that another player is even allowed to pay the fine of a fellow player, but perhaps Foster's agent should explore that possibility before going ahead with his stated intention to appeal the fine on Foster's behalf.↵
