Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly has pulled a “Bill Parcells” on the Glazer Boys. After agreeing to become the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last night, Kelly apparently has had a change of heart and has decided to stay with the University of Oregon according to published reports.
According to Pewter Report.com, Kelly is no longer a candidate for the job.
The Oregon-Register Guard reported that a highly placed source with the University of Oregon stated that Kelly had agreed to become the Buccaneers head coach but has “reversed course” and turned down the job.
The Bucs coaching search is on-going but Bucs fans should probably take heart that the Glazers made a strong push at a high profile coach that would have commanded a hefty salary to leave Oregon.
