Tampa Bay was fortunate enough to avoid new injuries against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but it lost the game and had its playoff hopes dashed.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers avoided any new injuries during their Week 15 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Bucs entered the weekend relatively healthy, with six players on their injury list. Michael Bennett and Anthony Gaitor were two of the players appearing on the list, and both were able to participate Sunday.
Tampa Bay turned the ball over five times against the Saints, which helped fuel New Orleans' 41-0 victory. The Saints piled up 447 yards of offense and averaged nearly seven yards per play. The loss was the Buccaneers' fourth in a row and dropped them to 6-8. They fell into a tie for second place with New Orleans in the NFC South, and they were eliminated from playoff contention.
The Bucs will try once again to break their losing streak when they host the St. Louis Rams in Week 16. They'll close out their regular season with a road game at Atlanta in Week 17.
