NFL Draft Results 2012: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Select RB Doug Martin After Trade With Denver Broncos

With the 31st pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Boise State Broncos running back Doug Martin after a trade with the Denver Broncos to move up. Martin is 5-foot-9 and the third-rated running back in the draft, according to Mocking The Draft's rankings. Using his combination of quickness and power, Martin rushed 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns in his senior season at Boise State.

According to Mocking The Draft's scouting report on Martin, he is a skilled cutback runner that sets up his blocks well and a polished receiver out of the backfield.

In the trade, Tampa Bay sent the 36th and 101st picks to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the 31st and 126th selections.

The Buccaneers' next pick is the 68th pick in round three.
