Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Former LSU QB Jordan Jefferson

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will give former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson a shot at the NFL. Over the weekend, the Tampa Bay Time reported that the Bucs signed Jefferson to a contract following an intriguing performance at the team's rookie minicamp.

Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano spoke highly of Jefferson's work at the team's facility over the weekend.

"He's an athletic guy who has a strong arm," Schiano said. "We wanted to gauge his development as a quarterback. I thought he made consistent improvement all weekend. There's a lot of upside there, so I think we would like to have a chance to work with him."

Jefferson was the starting quarterback for the Tigers last year, who finished the season with a loss to Alabama in the National Championship game. Jefferson was 24-8 as a starter with LSU. He faces an uphill battle for the third quarterback job.
