Lightning Vs. Sabres Final Score: Tampa Bay Shuts Out Buffalo, Wins 3-0

The Tampa Bay Lightning (3-3-2) have now won two games in a row after a five game losing streak, defeating the Buffalo Sabres 3-0 Saturday evening at the St. Pete Times Forum, ending the Sabres' (5-2-0) four game winning streak in the process.

Tampa Bay goaltender Mathieu Garon earned his first career shutout with the Lightning, stopping all 21 shots he faced. The backup (for now?) Lightning netminder has allowed just one goal in back-to-back wins over the Sabres and Islanders. It is Garon's first shutout in his last 34 games.

Martin St. Louis scored for Tampa Bay, displaying some deft stick-handling in getting one past Buffalo star goaltender Ryan Miller to give the Lightning a 2-0 lead. Pavel Kubina got Tampa Bay on the board at the 4:51 mark of the second period, and Victor Hedman ended the scoring for the home team, hitting an empty net with under a minute left in the game.
