Penguins Vs. Lightning: Tampa Bay Hosts Pittsburgh Looking For First January Win

The Tampa Bay Lightning (17-22-4, 38 pts) host the Pittsburgh Penguins (22-17-4, 48 pts) Sunday afternoon, looking for their first win in the month of January. The Lightning are 0-5-1 since the calendar flipped to 2012, having most recently dropped a 4-3 contest on the road Friday to the Washington Capitals.

The Penguins are coming off a 4-1 win Friday over the Florida Panthers, which stopped Pittsburgh's own six game slide. It was the franchise's longest losing streak since February of 2006.

The Lightning defeated the Penguins 4-1 on November 17, courtesy of two goals from Vincent Lecavalier. Since winning that night, Lightning goaltender Dwayne Roloson is 0-6-1 with a 4.39 GAA in eight starts.

Pittsburgh has lost their last four matchups with the Lightning, including the playoffs. Futility on the power play is a major reason why. Tampa Bay has held the Penguins to 0 for 24 on the power play in those last four games, and 1 for 47 in the last nine matchups between the two teams.
