Stay connected for news and updates

The Tampa Bay Rays jumped out to an early lead over the Los Angeles Angels when Ben Zobrist hit a solo home run and then Jeff Keppinger knocked in Carlos Pena to take a 2-0 lead over the Angels. Los Angeles wasn't backing down however and rallied late after going down 3-1.

Erik Aybar wound up safe on first base thanks to a throwing error, which advanced Torii Hunter to home plate to bring the Angels within a run of tying the game in the ninth inning at 3-2. Fernando Rodney settled himself however and getting the finals outs to complete the save as the Rays held on to win 3-2 over the Angels.
