Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Hideki Matsui has been called up from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday and will be in uniform in Tampa Bay's game against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night.

Matsui, who spent last season playing for the Oakland Athletics, signed a minor league deal with the Rays on April 30. Matsui was named World Series MVP in his final season with the New York Yankees in 2009. Matsui has hit a career .285 batting average with 173 home runs and 753 RBIs.
The Rays game against the White Sox on Tuesday is set for a 7:10 start at Tropicana Field.
