The Tampa Bay Rays did not have to wait too long for LF Hideki Matsui to find his rhythm with the bat. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Matsui -- in only his second MLB plate appearance of 2012 -- redirected a 91 mph slider from SP Philip Humber, blasting it deep into right field for a 2-run home run and a 2-1 Rays lead over the Chicago White Sox.
Here's a look at the home run swing:

The Rays called up Matsui, who signed April 30 to a minor league contract, despite Matsui still looking for his first homer with the Triple-A Durham team.
Meanwhile, SP James Shields has kept the White Sox lineup generally quiet. Through 4.0 innings, he has 5 strikeouts and no walks with only 1 run allowed.
