Indians Vs. Rays Recap: Tampa Evens Series With 4-2 Win

The Tampa Bay Rays came back on Tuesday night to even their series with the Cleveland Indians. The Rays clinched a 4-2 victory with Matt Moore and the bullpen combining to keep the Tribe at bay. Moore issued five walks innings of work but allowed just three hits. The bullpen was fantastic in relief, with both Wade Davis and Joel Peralta pitching 1.1 innings of perfect baseball. Fernando Rodney then came on in the top of the ninth to convert his 27th save. Rodney gave up a single to Casey Kotchman and then towering drive to Travis Hafner that landed short of the wall to end the game.

On offense, it was Carlos Pena who got things started with a two-run blast off notorious fly-ball pitcher Josh Tomlin. Pena ripped one over the right field wall in the top of the first, and then a Luke Scott triple scored Ben Zobrist for a quick three-run lead. That's all the Rays would need but a Jose Lobaton single added some insurance in the sixth inning to seal the 4-2 win.

Jeremy Hellickson will face Josh Masterson in the third game of the series on Wednesday.
