Rays Vs. Orioles: Baltimore Blanks Tampa Bay, 4-0

Stay connected for news and updates

Roles were reversed Saturday night. One day earlier, the Tampa Bay Rays gave up six hits in a 2-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles in their weekend series opener. On Saturday, though, the Rays were six-hit in a 4-0 shutout loss at Tropicana Field.

To make things worse, the Orioles scored early. In the first inning, Matt Wieters singled to right field, scoring Nick Markakis. In the second, Markakis singled as well to score Nate McLouth.

Tampa Bay starter Jeremy Hellickson lasted just four innings, allowing four runs and eight hits. He would also strike out four and walk four.

The series finale is scheduled for Sunday at 1:40 p.m. EST. David Price, who's 14-4 this season with a 2.64 ERA, will be on the mound for the Rays.
