The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles start a crucial three-game series Tuesday night.

The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles start a massively important three-game series Tuesday evening in Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Rays will send Matt Moore to the mound in hopes of getting the series opener under their belt. Moore has been excellent in 2012, sporting a 3.66 ERA along with a 10-9 record.

In his last start, the 23-year-old wasn't as sharp against the New York Yankees. Moore allowed six runs (four earned) in just 6.1 innings on eight hits. However, he did have decent stuff as evidenced by his nine strikeouts.

Jason Hammel will toe the rubber for Baltimore in search of his ninth win on the campaign. Hammel has been superb as well this year, with a 3.46 ERA for the O's.

The right-handed hurler also saw the Bronx Bombers in his previous outing but fared better than Moore. Hammel only lasted five frames but surrendered just one run on six hits, earning a no-decision.

If Tampa Bay can grab the victory, it'll pull even with Baltimore in the AL East and Wild Card chase.
