The Rays have won seven of Alex Cobb's last eight starts.

The Tampa Bay Rays have hit the skids at the wrong time, dropping five of their last six games. Their poor play has them four games back of the Baltimore Orioles for the Wild Card.

As Boston comes to town, Tampa Bay will look to turn things around and put the pressure back on Baltimore.

The Rays will send Alex Cobb (9-8, 4.26 ERA) for the series opener. Having Cobb on the mound has been the recipe for success lately for Tampa Bay. The Rays have won seven of his last eight starts.

Opposing Cobb will be Aaron Cook (3-10, 5.18 ERA). Unlike Cobb and the Rays, Cook and the Red Sox has usually led to a loss. The team has dropped nine of his last 10 starts.
