Lightning forward Steven Stamkos has been named the NHL’s Player of the Month for October. He is the first Tampa Bay player to win the award since Vincent Lecavalier was honored in November of 2007.
Stamkos leads the NHL with 19 points in 10 games (nine goals, 10 assists), and is tied for second in the league at plus-9. He also tallied five multi-point games and two game winning goals in October, a month that saw the Lightning race out to a 7-2-1 record, best in the Southeast division and tied with Montreal for best in the Eastern Conference.
