Coral Gables, FL (Sports Network) - Demetris Murray's one-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted the South Florida Bulls over the Miami-Florida Hurricanes, 23-20, in a non-conference clash.

Moise Plancher ran for 103 yards for South Florida (7-4), which got two touchdown runs from Murray to move to 9-0 all-time in overtime games.

Leonard Hankerson finished with nine catches for 127 yards in defeat for Miami (7-5).

The game-winning touchdown for USF came after Miami had to settle for a 38- yard field goal by Matt Bosher on its overtime possession.

Neither team was able to score in the first quarter, and the only points of the second stanza came as the final seconds ticked off the clock. South Florida's Maikon Bonani nailed a 21-yard field goal, enabling his team to take a 3-0 lead into intermission.

With nine minutes remaining in the third quarter, South Florida extended its lead to 10-0 with an eight-yard touchdown run by Murray.

With just over three minutes left in that third frame, Miami finally got on the board. Lamar Miller reached the end zone on an eight-yard run, cutting the Hurricanes' deficit to 10-7.

Just 30 seconds into the fourth quarter, Miami made a huge play to grab a 14-10 advantage, as Storm Johnson broke loose for a 71-yard touchdown scamper.

Six minutes later, Matt Bosher hit an 18-yard field goal to push the Hurricanes' lead to 17-10.

South Florida managed to force overtime with a one-yard touchdown run by Bobby Eveld with two minutes remaining in regulation. That play capped a nine-play, 81-yard drive.

Miami did have a chance to win the game before time ticked away in the final stanza, but Jacory Harris threw a costly interception for the 'Canes, who were in field goal range.
