Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed safety Cody Grimm and guard Davin Joseph on season-ending injured reserve Monday.
Head coach Raheem Morris confirmed the moves during a press conference, as both players were hurt in Sunday's 17-10 loss at Baltimore.
Grimm suffered a broken leg when teammate Aqib Talib and Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin fell on his leg during an interception return, while Joseph was felled by a broken foot early in the contest.
"We're going to miss those players a lot, but that's the nature of the beast in the NFL," Morris said.
Morris revealed that Sabby Piscitelli, Corey Lynch and Vince Anderson will compete for Grimm's job.
The key injuries couldn't have come at a worse time for Tampa Bay (7-4), which hosts NFC South leader Atlanta (9-2) next Sunday.
