Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Hugh Robertson scored 14 points and the South Florida Bulls edged the VCU Rams, 60-59, in overtime of a non-league matchup at the Sun Dome.
Augustus Gilchrist tacked on 12 points and five boards for USF (5-3), while Jawanza Poland added 11 points and six assists. Ron Anderson got into the mix as well, recording a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds.
Jamie Skeen headed VCU (4-2) with 16 points and six boards, while Bradford Burgess notched a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
USF took a 30-20 lead to the intermission after limiting VCU to a dismal 30.8 percent shooting effort from the field.
The Rams responded in the second half and forced overtime on a layup with 13.8 seconds left.
The Bulls made 2-of-3 field goals in overtime and defended VCU tightly in the final moments of the one-point win.
USF won the battle on the boards, 45-35, and that includes a 19-11 edge at the offensive end.
