When December rolls around in the world of college football, fans begin thinking about bowl games. But before the regular season ends, there are always plenty of questions. Who is going where? What bowl will host our beloved University of South Florida Bulls? Where will the rest of the Big East be going for a wintertime visit? Which college football teams will be coming into town for the Outback Bowl? Which college kids are going to get some beach time before playing the St. Petersburg Bowl?
The official selection show is scheduled for Sunday, but some of the 2010-2011 college football bowls have already begun the process. We already know where some teams are headed. And as you could probably guess, speculation (what some like to call 'bowl projection') is, of course, running rampant.
As previously mentioned, the Tampa Bay area will host the St. Petersburg Bowl as well as the Outback Bowl. We'll take a closer look at both of them shortly.
Teams from the Big East will be invited to at least six bowl games, including the Bowl Championship Series, also known as the BCS.
As these postseason bowl matchups of local interest become apparent, we'll try to keep track of them all right here.
