Rain Delay Does Not Stop Price, Rays In Atlanta

The rain fell, the night dragged on and for a Rays fan with an early start to Wednesday morning, you may not have stuck around to see the start of the Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Braves game on Tuesday night.

But once the rain departed Turner Field and the game got underway, two hours and twenty minutes late, the first thing the Rays did was rid themselves of pent up energy.  The Rays scored four in the first, with the aid of Evan Longoria's two-run home run and Sean Rodriguez RBI double.  The Rays would tack on more as teh game progressed.  You can find more on the game by visiting DraysBay and reading their recap.

While the Rays bats were hot, their pitching can't be overlooked.  Though David Price worked hard through only five innings (113 pitches -- 73 for strikes, giving up 2 earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven), it was enough to earn him his 10th victory of the season.  He's he first American League pitcher to reach that milestone this season.
