Longoria Walks, Scores For American League

Batting first in the bottom of the 5th, Evan Longoria draws a walk.

Minnesota’s Joe Mauer taps a grounder to Dodgers pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo, who throws it up the first base line, making it men on second and third with nobody out.

The Yankees’ Robinson Cano hits a deep fly ball to center, allowing Longoria to tag up and score.

Carl Crawford reached on a fielder's choice (Mauer was tagged out), and stole second base, where he was stranded.

At the end of the inning, the American League is up 1-0.
