"Zeke" Konopka, Alex Tanguay also depart Lightning

Thursday also saw Left Wing Alex Tanguay depart the Lightning for the Calgary Flames, where he played with some success previously. Tanguay did not go quietly into that fair night as he did lob a shot at the Lightning:

“I just didn’t get to play,” Tanguay said. "I went for a while when I played two minutes a game, three minutes a game. I felt great at times, but I just didn’t get to play.

“I want to get back to the level I think I can play. Last year was a difficult year for me. After last season, there are a lot of people doubting my ability.”

Tanguay did not fit the TB system, but who exactly did last season?

Oh, that’s right, Zenon Konopka. And The player lovingly known as Zeke among some fans, was another Free Agent casualty. He signed with the New York Islanders this afternoon. He was told formally by Lightning GM Steve Yzerman that he was not in Tampa Bay’s plan for the future.
