In the midst of yet another hot streak, it's nice to not to have a lot to worry about with the Rays right now. However, a situation that bears watching are the bumps and bruises that seem to be starting to accumulate, especially over the last few days.
- Carl Crawford took an errant pick-off throw in the hoo-hah last week in Baltimore.
- B.J. Upton sprained an ankle in the first inning of Tuesday night's game against the Tigers and isn't expected to play until tomorrow.
- Ben Zobrist came out of Wednesday night's game with back pain and is not playing today.
- Sean Rodriguez was hit on the hand by a pitch today (but remains in the game).
It's part of the game and every team has to deal with it. The Rays are fortunate to have avoided serious injuries so far and are blessed with talented reserves. Still, it would be a lot easier to sit back and enjoy this stretch leading up to the huge series against the Yankees without worrying every time somebody slides.
