Lightning Fantasy Hockey Camp

The Tampa BayLightning will host a Fantasy Hockey Camp Wednesday, July 14 until Saturday, July 17 at the St. Pete Times Forum. The camp serves as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for amateur hockey players to learn about the game from the Lightning coaching staff and alumni.

Lightning Fantasy Hockey Camp features three days of ice time at the St. Pete Times Forum with three hours of on-ice instruction per day from alumni, coaches and trainers. The camp will be led by former Tampa Bay players including 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Dave Andreychuk, John Tucker, Pat Jablonski, Doug Crossman as well as Director of Youth Hockey Brian Bradley.

"The Lightning Fantasy Camp is a great opportunity for the average hockey player to get into the mind of an NHL athlete," Andreychuk said. "Besides learning a lot on the ice, you will learn a lot about off-ice preparation and the average day of a pro. You will have the time of your life!"

There will also be numerous activities off the ice involved with the camp. The Lightning staff will provide participants with off-ice video sessions designed to provide instruction into improving techniques of all facets of the game. All individuals in attendance will receive a meet and greet with Lightning players as well as opening-night tickets in the Channelside Club at the St. Pete Times Forum to kick off the 2010-11 NHL regular season.

At the conclusion of the camp there will be a full 60-minute championship game and an awards ceremony. Each player will receive a Lightning game jersey, a practice jersey, a commemorative polo and a set of official Lightning workout clothes. Meals will be provided for participants each day.

The camp is limited to 50 participants and all prospective campers must be at least 21 years old. Registration is available at www.tampabaylightning.com or by contacting Behn Custard at 813.301.6755 or bcustard@sptimesforum.com.
