Rays Sign Two Top Picks

Baseball America is reporting that the Rays have signed 2010 first round draft choices Josh Sales for $1.62 million and Drew Vettleson for $845,000.

Sales, an outfielder out of Bishop Blanchet High (Seattle, Wash.) was the 17th overall pick in this year’s draft. Vettleson, also an outfielder who played for Central Kitsap High (Silverdale, Wash.) was the 42nd overall pick.

The Rays signed their third first round draft choice (31st overall), Justin O’Conner, a catcher from Cowan High (Muncie, Ind.) for $1.025 million on June 11th.
