Tampa, FL (Sports Network) – Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman left Saturday’s pre-season game against Kansas City with a fracture on the tip of his right thumb.
Freeman led the Buccaneers on a seven-play, 28-yard drive on their opening possession that resulted in a field goal. He completed 2-of-4 passes for 21 yards before the leaving the game.
According to the team’s official Twitter page, Freeman is expected to be able to practice and be ready for the team’s season opener against Cleveland on September 12.
